Inventory: Lisbon

"Lisbon" draws from the ceramic tile façades that define the city’s visual identity. Using photogrammetry, the Oddviz collective captures and reimagines the azulejos—hand-painted ceramic tiles—transforming them into an architectural tapestry of cubic forms that float, stack, and interlock. The work reflects the layered history and craftsmanship embedded in these tiles, presenting them as fragmented yet interconnected elements of a larger narrative.

Each tile retains the details of its origin—ornamental patterns, weathered surfaces, and vibrant color schemes—while the modular composition suggests a cityscape suspended in transition. The installation explores the tension between preservation and reinvention, offering a contemplative lens through which to engage with Lisbon’s cultural heritage in a transformed context.

"Lisbon" serves as both an archive and a reinterpretation, preserving the ephemeral beauty of the city’s tiles while inviting viewers to imagine new connections within their intricate patterns.
